Why is it essential to thriving teams?

Welcome to the latest Leading Well Series event on Belonging To belong is a fundamental human need. You know it when you feel you belong and likewise, you know it when you feel excluded – from a team, a conversation, a project.  When somebody enters a new role in an organisation, they are seeking to answer two questions – “do I belong here” and “where is my place”?   Belonging is simple and complex all at the same time and strangely, leaders are generally less impacted by belonging – due to their position within the organisation.  However, leaders who truly understand how to work with belonging and create safe and inclusive environments are much better able to harness the collective energy of their people towards sustainable high performance.  

What we will discuss:

In these two short workshops, we will explore the importance of belonging as a core principle of human systems.  

For the first workshop we invite CEOs, General Managers and other leaders to explore how a person’s sense of belonging contributes to the wellbeing, productivity and financial performance of their team 

For the second workshop, we invite P&C, HR and DEI specialists to deep dive to explore the critical role of belonging in DEI initiatives.

Sonya is a passionate leader in the coaching and leadership industry in Australia. With over ten years and 10,000 hours of coaching and facilitation experience, Sonya heads up Leading Well’s Queensland team.

About Mark Powell

Mark is a highly experienced leadership coach and facilitator. Mark brings previous success in a number of different leadership roles, including 20 years in Financial Services leading newly formed business units and helping to re-generate existing businesses through innovative product initiatives to his work as a leadership practitioner.
